I was traveling through northern Italy and staying in Como, and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to take the train to one of my favorite cities in the country, and perhaps the world, Milan. I love it for its rich history, stunning architecture, and incomparable food and wine. On this visit, I was gifted with exceptional weather, including these opaque, drifting clouds, which made the experience all the more memorable.

The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, completed in 1877, is one of the most important early examples of a modern civic interior, notable for its ambitious use of glass and iron at such a monumental scale. While it is often colloquially referred to as the “cathedral of commerce,” the space does not shy away from a sense of reverence and grandeur, carrying an almost temple-like presence.

As the eye moves from shadow to light, from carved stone to vaulted iron and glass, the journey through the space becomes part of the experience itself. This sense of upward movement, of pause and reflection, is something I continually seek to capture in my work. With Ascension, the Galleria does precisely that.

Printing

We strictly use the highest tier of archival materials that are all conservation based and acid free. By adhering to museum-quality paper, printing and framing standards, we ensure that every Roman Russo fine art print is made to last, allowing collectors to enjoy their artwork for a lifetime. To faithfully translate the original artistic vision into print, the artist meticulously curates the paper type for each unique piece.

Archival Inks: Using state-of-the-art archival pigment inks, we achieve a color range and detail sharpness that far exceeds standard digital printing. These inks are rated to resist fading for over 100 years under proper display conditions.

Archival Papers: We print on acid-free archival papers (such as Hahnemühle, Canson Infinity Arches and other leading brands) known for their ability to hold deep blacks and rich, cinematic colors without fading.

Framing

We believe fine art deserves exceptional presentation and protection. We partner with premier framing studios that handcraft each frame using the highest quality materials. Our recommendations are carefully curated to accentuate each specific image, as we view the frame and mounting as an integral extension of the artwork itself.

Whether you choose a frame through us or prefer to have your limited edition print sent to your own local framer, we are dedicated to ensuring a perfect result.

The Frames: We partner with artisans who utilize strictly premium wood moulding to ensure beauty and durability. While each Limited Edition features a frame profile specifically selected by the artist, we are happy to consult with you to find a style that best suits your space. Please inquire about these bespoke options when selecting your artwork.

Glass & Acrylic: To ensure longevity and safety, we utilize Conservation Clear UV glass for small to medium works. For large-scale statement pieces, we use premium UV-protective acrylic to reduce weight and prevent breakage without compromising clarity.

Archival Matting & Mounting: We strictly adhere to conservation standards, using acid-free, museum-grade mats and non-destructive photo corner mounting. Standard editions feature a luxurious 8-ply white mat with a 2 3/4" margin. For large-scale works (e.g., 40x80", 50x50"), we utilize a 4-ply mat with an extended 3 1/4" margin for optimal visual balance.

Customization: While each piece comes with an artist-recommended frame, we are happy to work with you to find a frame that will suit your space. If you are a trade professional requiring a custom print or frame for a specific project, please reach out—we would be delighted to collaborate with you.

Authenticity & Exclusivity

Every piece in our Limited Edition collection is released in strictly limited quantities to ensure rarity and value for collectors.

Signed & Numbered: Each print is hand-signed by Roman Russo and numbered to verify its place within the edition.

Certificate of Authenticity: Every artwork arrives with a formal Certificate of Authenticity. This document details the title, edition number, size, print medium, and date, serving as the official guarantee of the artwork’s origin.
