Inside the Duomo di Milano, the main central nave unfolds into a vast Gothic sanctuary where tree-trunk-like stone pillars rise and define the immense scale of the space. As you move through the interior, the vertical expansion becomes palpable, drawing the eye forward toward the distant altar and upward into the intricate details of the ceiling above.

The artworks suspended along the nave feel almost atmospheric, dispersed among the towering columns like a soft haze within the structure. I’m always drawn to these quieter relationships and unexpected perspectives with details that are often overlooked, even when they are ever-present in spaces like this.

Photographing the scene presented its own challenges. The constant movement of crowds, combined with the interplay of natural ambient light and focused artificial spotlights, created a complex lighting environment. The cathedral carries the ethereal glow you expect in a sanctuary, but balancing that softness with the sharper beams of artificial light required patience and careful observation.

Shipping & Returns

Please allow 3 to 4 weeks for delivery after payment is received. We take great care in the packaging and shipping of your fine art print. The customer pays for all shipping costs. All sales are final; Roman Russo does not accept refunds, returns, or exchanges. We are unable to make changes or cancellations to an order more than 24 hours after it is placed.

If your artwork arrives with any damage, please reach out to us as soon as possible.
